About this site

Home Insurance Quote Line is a small independent publisher. It writes about one narrow subject — the insurance that sits on an owner-occupied house in the United States — and it carries a telephone number for readers who have decided they want quotes.

Why this site exists in this shape

Most writing about homeowners insurance falls into two piles. One pile is produced by insurers, and it is about their product. The other is produced by comparison platforms, and it is engineered to move you into a form. Both piles are honest enough about what they are, but neither is written for somebody sitting at a kitchen table with a renewal notice that went up by a third, trying to work out whether that is normal.

The gap this site tries to fill is the mechanism. Not what a policy costs in Ohio, which depends on more variables than any page can hold, but why a percentage deductible behaves differently from a flat one, why a roof’s age can decide eligibility rather than just price, what a lender means when it writes the word hazard, and which part of a standard policy is open-peril and which part is not.

How it is funded

This site is paid by an advertiser when a reader calls the published number and the conversation lasts long enough to be a real one. It is not paid for a policy sale, for an application, or for a share of anybody’s premium, and it will not accept that arrangement if it is offered. The distinction matters: payment attached to a sale would make this something other than advertising.

What this site will not publish

No reviews, no star ratings, no quoted customers, and no list of recommended insurers. No savings figure of any kind, because nobody can know in advance what a particular household would pay. Nothing here suggests a connection to any federal or state agency, because there is none. No insurer’s name attached to a recommendation, because recommending a particular company is the business of a licensed producer, which this site is not.

Photographs on this site are illustrations. They are not photographs of a customer, a property we have insured, or a contractor we work with, and no caption suggests otherwise.

Corrections and contact

If a figure here is wrong, or a rule has changed in your state, the editor wants to know. Write to admin@homeinsurancequoteline.com. That address is for corrections, source questions and press. It is not a route to a quote and it is not a route to anybody’s insurer — for a quote, the telephone number is the only path this site offers.

For anything to do with an existing policy — a claim, a cancellation, a billing dispute, a refusal to renew — the two organizations that can actually act are your own insurer and your state insurance department. Every state has one, every one of them takes consumer complaints, and none of them charges for it.
